Having your phone number available is a requirement by the carrier.

We will not use your phone number for any other reasons than for facilitating the physical delivery of your order. When the customer's location is not found at delivery, the carrier has to call him or her in order to arrange delivery. Without a phone number your product may be sent back to the warehouse if delivery was not possible.

• After you order, you will receive an order confirmation email immediately. The order confirmation email will ask you to review your shipping address and to notify us right away should there be any mistake or if anything is missing. 
• A few days later, you will receive (most probably!) a notification email with a tracking number. It is possible you receive your backpack before the tracking number.

• You will be able to follow your package on the internet by clicking on the link provided in the tracking number email.

• You will also instantly receive an invoice in the currency you chose at checkout.

I always make sure that your backpack leaves the warehouse as soon as possible after you order.

• How do I use AfterPay on this store?

Shop myshittybackpack.com as usual, then on the final page of checkout, simply select "AfterPay" as your payment method on the bottom left. If you're new to AfterPay, you'll register and provide your payment details; if you’ve used AfterPay before, just log in to your AfterPay account.

Registering for AfterPay is a quick and uncomplicated process that does not involve external credit checks or lengthy paperwork. 

• How does the payment schedule work?

AfterPay users are required to make their first payment at the time of purchase. The three remaining installment payments will be deducted automatically from your selected payment method every two weeks. You may log into AfterPay to make payments early. AfterPay will then adjust your amount owed accordingly.

Most customers will receive their tracking number a few days after ordering, or at least before the backpack arrives. Some customers have received their backpack before the tracking number! 

We will make sure your backpack leaves the warehouse as soon as possible.

These days tracking has become more difficult. We do our best to send you your tracking number as soon as possible. You can always use the Contact form if you are worried. Most probably your backpack is on its way but the tracking not yet.

Even with Express shipping, this is rare but there can be delays outside of my control, like at customs, during national holidays and other events. 

 The delivery time of 1-2 weeks is almost always what happens. 

After your order ships, you will most likely receive a notification email with a tracking number and you can follow your package on the internet by clicking on the link provided. Some customers have received their backpack before the tracking number though.

If you can't find your notification email, go to our website and sign in if you created an account at the time of ordering. You will find the tracking number in your information.

If you did not create an account contact us at contact@myshittybackpack.com with your name and address and we will assist you.

Delays are rare but they can happen, even with express shipping. 

Sometimes a package will be held in customs before it is cleared and this can cause a delay. A custom agent will contact you directly if such is the case. 

Other unexpected events that could delay a package are natural disasters, political unrest, pandemia, strikes, national holidays, etc. 

MyShittyBackpack has no control over such events and cannot be held liable for delays in any of these events but we will gladly help you track your package.

Please contact your shipping company using the information available on their website and settle any possible claims or refunds with them directly.

If you refuse a shipment from MyShittyBackpack, you are responsible for the original shipping charges, any import taxes that may have been incurred on the package, and the cost of returning the package to MyShittyBackpack.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make sure that the shipping address is entered correctly at check-out.  If you entered the wrong shipping address at check-out, please contact us right away at contact@myshittybackpack.com with your order number and name, or simply respond to the order confirmation email you received.

MyShittyBackpack shall not be held liable for delays and/or failures in delivery if we cannot gain access to the property. If the parcel is shipped with the incorrect address the courier may not accept an address change. 

If the shipper leaves a note for you to go pick up your package and you do not, the package will be returned to us. If the parcel is returned and the buyer requests to reship the parcel additional shipping fees will be applied.

So far there have never been any import taxes or duties levied on our 1, 4 or 10 backpack packages to Europe, Africa, Asia or America. 

Although MyShittyBackpack will (most probably) send you a tracking number for your package, we are not the shipper. The shipper will be the postal service, DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc.

So far all the packages have reached their destinations. 

We will gladly help you with the tracking of your package if you need it, but we cannot be held responsible for delays, losses, damages or whatever else could happen with your package after it ships from our warehouse. 

Sometimes your package will be held in customs before it is cleared and this can cause extra delay.

For any claims or refunds related to shipping, please contact the shipping company using the information available on their website and arrange settlement with them directly. We can put you in contact with the shipping company if you wish so.

Our backpacks are not waterproof, but weather-resistant, which means that if you find yourself in a short downpour, the contents of your bag will remain dry.

If your bag gets wet in the rain, please do not dry it in a dryer as this would shrink it. Simply remove the contents and hang the bag to air dry. 

The NikWax website sells a waterproofing solution for hemp/cotton that gives your backpack an extra layer of protection.

Nope. Your backpack hates dryers. They make it shrink.

Our backpacks are not waterproof but they are weather-resistant, which means that your belongings will stay dry inside the bag if you find yourself in a short downpour.

If your bag gets wet from rain do not dry it in a dryer as this would shrink it. Simply remove the contents and let the bag air dry. Pull the black lining out and away from the main compartment as this will allow for faster drying.

Unfortunately, once in a while there can be a lemon! This is unavoidable nowadays in industrial manufacturing despite quality control. We know how frustrating this can be and we want to help you with this.

If this happens, shoot us an email at contact@myshittybackpack.com, explaining what is going on and attach a few clear pictures of the defect, within 100 days of receiving your package, stating your name and order number. 

We will need pictures or possibly videos showing what’s wrong with your backpack in order for us to determine if it is defective. If it turns out the bag was defective we will either refund you or send another backpack. We will be in communication with you.

What is non refundable/non exchangeable?

• Backpacks damaged by rough inappropriate use;
• Backpacks damaged by being washed on a regular or heavy duty cycle in a washer (please use gentle cycle);
• Backpacks damaged by being exposed to harsh detergents;
• Backpacks damaged by being dried in a dryer;
• Backpacks that were modified by the customer;
• Any international customs duties and taxes possibly paid to the destination country, if there was any.

So far there have never been any import taxes or duties levied on our 1, 4 or 10 backpack packages to Europe, Africa, Asia or America. 

Usable internal dimensions: 11” tall x 9.8” wide x 2” deep (28 cm tall x 25 cm wide x 5 cm deep). The internal dimensions allow for the space needed to cinch the bag at the top. If you do not cinch your bag at the top then more of the bag width and height will become usable. For more info check the blog post “What fits in this backpack".

This is a medium size backpack. It will fit an electronic device up to 13.6 inch total diameter with the protective case on, like this:

The great advantage of choosing a non-tech bag is that you will not attract the wrong type of attention. Most people would not suspect that you may be carrying some kind of valuable piece of electronics. 

Since this backpack is not padded it is recommended to always carry your laptop or tablet inside a protective case and to take your measurements with the protective case on your device.

I carry my 13.5” iPad Pro in this backpack with no difficulty but this would really be the largest size that would fit in it. Anything bigger would be too large. 

Notice that I set my iPad in its protective case on the side of the backpack that’s not against my back and softer things against my back so that the backpack  still feels comfortable to carry. 

If you are looking for a large backpack, this is not it.

If you are looking for a large backpack, this is not it. This one is a medium backpack.

If you do not like logos and labels, know that it is very easy to remove our labels so that your backpack is neutral. Anybody can do this without any risk of damaging the backpack. You do not need any sewing knowledge do do this either.

This is our recommendation:

• Grab kitchen or sewing scissors, the thinner the better. Slide one blade under any stitch on top of the label, and pull it up until the thread breaks, like this:

• Repeat the same thing on the next few stitches, one by one:

• After several stitches are broken, you can start pulling on the label with one hand while keeping the backpack material down with the other hand, in order to release several stitches at a time.

It will take no more than a few minutes to remove the whole label.

• All is left to do then is to pull on the loose threads sticking out from the backpack material to remove them.

This backpack is massed-produced in China. China holds 70% of the world hemp production.

Industrial hemp production is sustainable by nature.
